How do I change the Director's Date Of Birth (DOB)?

If a director’s date of birth has been filed incorrectly at Companies House, it’s important to get it corrected as soon as possible. Your details must match Companies House records, especially for identity verification.

How to correct a Director’s DOB

The steps depend on when the director was added to the company.

If the director was added when the company was formed
If the incorrect date of birth was included when the company was incorporated using form IN01 (Form used to incorporate company), you’ll need to send 2 paper forms to Companies House:

1. RP01 – Replace a document not meeting requirements
2. The relevant director section from form IN01
   
   If the person is listed as both a director and a PSC, you’ll need to include both sections of the IN01 form. You’ll also need to include proof of the correct date of birth, such as a photocopy of a passport or driving licence.

If the director was appointed after the company was formed
If the director was appointed after incorporation using form AP01 (Appoint a director), Companies House says the replacement filing should be submitted online using WebFiling. This is the quickest option:

1. Sign in to Companies House WebFiling
2. Select All forms
3. Choose Replace a previous filing that contained an error or had missing information
4. Select Replace a previously filed appointment of a director (AP01)

If your company is registered for PROOF

If your company is registered for the PROOF scheme, you’ll also need to complete form PR03 when sending a paper filing.

How long does it take?

Companies House currently advises that corrections can take up to 20 working days to be processed. Where possible, it’s best to submit the replacement filing online to help avoid delays.

Once the correction has been processed

Once Companies House has updated the changes - click the sync data with companies house button available from your account, so the newly filed information is updated.
