The Director: Appoint, Resign & Edit

Managing your company’s directors is simple and fast using your Companies MadeSimple online admin portal. Whether you’re adding a new director, updating existing details, or processing a resignation—everything can be done securely online and submitted directly to Companies House.

Here’s what you can do:

✅ Appoint a New Director

You can appoint either:

• An individual (human) director, or

• A corporate director (another company acting as a director)

To appoint a director:

1. Log in and go to your company’s admin page.

2. Select “Appoint New Director.”

3. Choose whether you're adding an individual or a corporate director.

4. Enter the required details:

   For an individual:

   • Full name

   • Date of birth

   • Nationality

   • Occupation

   • Residential address

   • Service address

   For a corporate director:

   • Company name

   • Registration number

   • Registered office address

5. Click “Continue” to submit the appointment to Companies House.

🕒 Most appointments are processed and accepted within 3 working hours.
Once accepted, the new director will appear under the “Directors” section in your account.

❌ Resign a Director

To remove a current director:

1. Click “Resign” next to the director you wish to remove.

2. Enter the resignation date.

3. Click “Submit.”

The request will be sent to Companies House and is usually accepted within 3 working hours. Once processed, the director will be removed from your company record.

✏️ Edit Director Information

Need to update a director’s details?

1. Click “Edit” next to the relevant director.

2. Tick the “Change” box for the fields you'd like to update.

3. You can change:

   • Name

   • Residential address

   • Service address

4. Click “Save.”

Your changes will be reviewed and usually accepted by Companies House within 3 working hours.

🔐 For security reasons, date of birth and nationality cannot be edited. If you need to correct these, please contact our support team.
