Getting Your Documents Translated

If your proof of address documents are not written in English, we may require a certified English translation before we can complete our verification checks.

When is a translation required?

You may need to provide an English translation if your proof of address document has been issued in a language other than English.

What documents will need to be translated?

We may ask for an English translation of your:

• Bank statement
• Utility bill
• Mortgage statement

Who can provide a translation?

Translations must be completed by a certified or "sworn" translator.

What should the translated document include?

The translation should clearly show all information contained within the original document, including:

• Full name
• Address
• Type of statement or bill
• Name of the organisation that issued the document
• Statement or bill date

The translation should also include:

• A statement confirming that the translation is a true and accurate translation of the original document.
• The translator's full name.
• The translator's signature and date.
• The translator's contact details or company details.
• The translation agency's stamp or letterhead (where applicable).

How do I submit translated documents?

Please provide:

• A clear copy of the original proof of address document
• The certified English translation

Both documents must be complete, legible, and show all pages containing relevant information.
