From 18th November 2025, Companies House will introduce mandatory identity verification checks for:
- Company directors
- People with Significant Control (PSCs)
- Anyone filing information on behalf of a company
These changes are part of a broader government effort to increase corporate transparency and combat economic crime.
What This Means for You
If you're an existing customer, you may have already completed identity checks with us during the company formation process. However, those checks may not meet the new standards set by Companies House.
We strongly recommend all company officers complete a new identity verification with us to ensure full compliance with the updated regulations. This will help avoid disruptions to your ability to:
- Form new companies
- Appoint an officer to an existing company
- File confirmation statements and other updates
How the New Process Works
✅ Complete the New ID Check
You can complete the ID check via our secure online portal. If any documents or information are missing, our team will guide you through the next steps.
📤 Submission to Companies House
As a registered Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP), we will submit the verified identity information directly to Companies House once all requirements are met.
🔐 Receive Your Unique Personal Code
After successful verification, Companies House will issue a unique personal code to the verified officer.
You will need this code for:
- Registering a new company
- Be appointed as a director or PSC of an existing company
- File confirmation statements or act on behalf of a company at Companies House
