When you view your company information on Companies House WebCheck or within your Companies MadeSimple account, you might notice a field labelled:
“Last Confirmation Statement Made Up To" — often followed by a date.
But what does this actually mean?
Understanding the “Made Up To” Date
This field refers to your company’s last Confirmation Statement (previously called an Annual Return) and the date it was accurate up to.
It shows the date on which the last statement of your company’s details was confirmed and submitted.
This includes details like your directors, registered office, shareholders, and share structure.
It’s a legal requirement for all limited companies to file a Confirmation Statement at least once every 12 months, even if nothing has changed.
What If the Field Is Empty?
If the “Last Confirmation Statement Made Up To” field is blank or missing a date, it usually means:
The company has not yet filed a Confirmation Statement.
This is common for newly formed companies, especially if they are still within the first 12 months of incorporation.
Stay Compliant
Filing your Confirmation Statement on time helps ensure your company remains in good standing with Companies House.
You can easily manage and file your statement through your MadeSimple account—we’ll even send you reminders when it’s due.
✅ Tip: Always check that the “made up to” date is within the last 12 months. If not, your next Confirmation Statement may be overdue.
