Companies House have a list of names that are considered sensitive words and therefore may require supporting documents in order to use the word in the company name. Some common examples of this are "King", "Queen", "Dental", "Chartered Accountant" etc.
How to upload a supporting document to my company application
In the final summary section of your company application you will find a link to upload a supporting document, if required.
Scroll down until you see the "Articles" section. There will be a link which you can click if you need to upload customised memorandum and articles or a supporting document (as seen in the image below).
Clicking on the link will bring you to a hidden "Memorandum & Articles" section of your application. On this page you can choose to upload a supporting document if your company name requires it.
The supporting document must be in PDF format. Once you have uploaded this, you can click on "Continue" at the bottom of the page.
This will take you back to the "Summary" section of the application, here you can check all the details again and make sure that the support document was in fact added.
